The hotel clerk says "That will be $30"
Each man hands the clerk $10. The clerk gives them the key, and the three men
go to their room.
After they have left, the clerk realizes he made a mistake - he should have charged the men only $25, so he calls the bellhop and gives him $5 to take to the three men in their room. On the way, the bellhop realizes that the three men cannot divide $5 evenly, so he gives them $3 and keeps the other $2 for himself.
Each man has paid $9. The bellhop has $2. Total |
